For Solar One’s yearly festival, CitySol, I was commissioned to design an environment where visitors would be encouraged to write letters to the Public Service Commissioner in support of state wide solar energy goals. As an incentive for their work, letter writers were offered a drink while they wrote. The “Letter Bar” was designed to be visually enticing, with a soaring translucent canopy. It combines the social engagement format of a bar with the attention and space offered by a work desk to make sipping and writing these important letters enjoyable.
